Dental bridges are a great way to replace missing teeth! A dental bridge is a natural-looking dental appliance that can replace a section of missing teeth. Dental bridges are custom-made for every patient, and is barely noticeable while restoring the natural contour of teeth as well as the proper bite between upper and lower teeth.
There are several types of fixed dental bridges (mean they cannot be removed), including conventional fixed bridges, cantilever bridges and resin-bonded bridges. Some bridges are removable and can be cleaned by the patient while others need to be removed by a dentist.
Porcelain, gold alloys or combinations of materials are usually used to make the dental bridge appliances.
Dental bridges are completed in two visits. During the first visit, we examine and prep your teeth that will support the dental bridge. Afterwards, we take a mold to design your new dental bridge that will securely fit like your natural teeth did. While our lab and ceramist build your new bridge, Dr. Milito fits you with a temporary dental bridge so teeth and gums can be protected while you practice smiling again!
Once the lab finishes your new teeth, you will come back to have the permanent bridge fitted and cemented in place. After the dental bridge is correctly fitted and the bite is perfect, our dental staff will take further impressions to ensure that the bite is natural and does not cause any pain or discomfort during your bite. Dr. Milito and our team will ensure that the shade is the same as your natural teeth, resulting in a natural-looking smile that will boost your confidence and make you feel better about smile.
